Steelers Trample Tampa, 38-13

The last time the Steelers traveled to Tampa Bay, it was for Super Bowl XLIII. Like two years ago, the Steelers won in a convincing matter beating the Buccaneers 38-13.

Thoughts on the game:
  • Josh Freeman may have had a rough game today, but you could see why most think the young QB will have a good career in Tampa.
  • Mike Williams is one talented receiver.....he looked great out there outside of his fumble.
  • Charlie Batch....you are just what that offense needed. A guy who could make the throw and put the ball where the receivers could actually catch it.
  • Steelers defense......once again showed why they are the best defense in the league. They may have not had a field day like they did in Tennessee. However, they got constant pressure on Freeman, closed the running lanes, and forced a few turnovers.
  • Brett Keisel....congrats on your first pick six. You might be one of the most athletic big men in the NFL.....you looked like a LB on the return.
  • Another herculean effort by the DL.
  • To the Steelers OL, excellent job. Everyone just played well, with exceptional efforts by Pouncey, Legursky, and Adams. You kept Batch clean and created holes for Mendenhall and Redmen.

Hartley's Leg Keeps Saints Undefeated vs the 49ers

There was one hell of a game in Candlestick Park. The Saints needed a field goal to win the game 25-22.

Thoughts on the game:
  • Got to give Mike Singletary props for getting his team ready for tonight. He did a more impressive job of keeping the team ready to fight every snap after the first two series of the game gave the Saints a 9-0 lead.
  • The 49ers defense. They may have just given the rest of the teams in the NFL a way to get good pressure against Drew Brees and Co.
  • Patrick Willis.....that is one bad man.
  • Vernon Davis.....that is the way to justify your new contract bud. The two point conversion was reminiscent of Santonio Holmes' TD catch in Baltimore that gave them the win.
  • The Saints defense. While the offense was good too, you have to give Greg Williams and Co. a lot of respect. Defenders contesting throws ended up causing two interceptions that may have just saved the Saints perfect record the other night.
  • Drew Brees......does ice run in your veins bro? You made the last drive of the game look like Madden 11 game.
  • Reggie Bush, get better soon. The Saints are going to miss your abilities in the upcoming weeks.

Monday Night Football New Orleans vs. San Francisco

The reigning Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints clash against the San Francisco 49ers on this classic rendition of ESPN Monday Night Football.

The Saints are coming off an abnormally long week since they opened the season with a win against the Vikings. Meanwhile, the 49ers are coming off a embarrassing loss on the road to the Seattle Seahawks.

I expect this to be one hell of a game. The 49ers were outplayed in every facet of the game last Sunday. Mike Singletary will be sure to have his team ready to rumble. The Saints certainly struggled in their home opener, so both teams will be ready to prove themselves rest of the NFL.
